Notes: This is partial as this was over a year ago but this is at least 75% of what went down that night. This show was not listed anywhere on this site that i could see but this show did happen! it was either monday the fourth or tuesday the fifth. I want to say monday. The songs listed above were played. During the end of nellie jean Brad broke a string on his hollow body and switched to the sitar/guitar he has. The jam continued with Andrew throwing in breakbeats while Brad threw some spacey sounds in while tuning the sitar. i don't remember all the parts of aptos being played but the song/jam had a very aptos type feel to it. This show was a walther production and the slip were playing in support of the steve kimock band. Posted by: tim [timbna at yahoo.com] - August 09, 2003

Again, the show started around 4: 00 AM. The three early morning Jazz Fest shows are a bit hazy, as there was much alcohol consumption on top of the fact that it was 4-4:30 am!!! Great show on a beautiful Friday Spring Day; Student government must have sponsored the show because they passed out "stress balls" (the soft, squishy type) right before Foil the Mohel, this in turn created an all out hippy war with people pelting each other with the balls.....it was memorable to say the least...the URL above has several pictures from that day [ethan] Love And Tears was played at this show.

* Nellie was wistful as always but really built, was all Marc in a way, very progressive bass solo initially and (my) recording cuts at 15 minutes as Marc is laying into a monstrous distorted solo:
% could be Tenfold your guess is as good as mine, tightens up near the end into more recognizable phrases but returns to main intro theme to close
& Brad's vocals aren't really hitting early on and it progresses into what may be a somewhat frustrated/inspired version. Very rocky in the least and Brad's vocal delivery sounds a bit like an anguished Jeff Buckley putting off his crowd with a Kanga Roo cover.
$ Just a really strong rendition. Marc later told me he'd played it for me because he knew I liked it, but I get the sense Marc tells everyone what they want to hear.
